If you travel on Kandy-Nuwara Eliya (A5) road, soon after you pass the Ramboda Tunnel you will be able to witness one of the breath taking waterfalls in the central hills, which is Ramboda falls. (it is also called Puna Ella). It is 358 ft high and is the eleventh highest waterfall in Sri Lanka and 729th waterfall in the world. It is located 945 meters above sea level. Ramboda falls makes a twin with Dunsinane falls which falls on right side of it. At the base both the waterfalls combine creating a Y shaped waterfall. Ramboda falls is formed by Panna oya and Dunsinane falls is formed by Pundalu oya . Both of them are tributaries to Kothmale River. The best and the complete view of the water fall can be seen the closer you reach. Road view of the waterfall would also be nice yet reaching it via pathway would give a more breath taking view. Both local and foreign visitors are attracted to this place.
