Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple Ramboda(Kothmale)

This temple is situated in between Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya main road, approximately 24 km away from Nuwara -Eliya. This temple has been constructed by Chinmaya project in memory of God Hanuman(by Guruji Swami Tejomayananda). The statue of God Hanuman is 16ft tall and is made out of black granite. This standing statue is decorated with flowers and silk clothing. It is considered a religious place and also a place for sightseeing. The place is considered the sacred place where God Hanuman set his foot in Kothmale in search of Seetha. It is said that Hanuman has organized his battle against Ravana in Kothmale area. Followers of Hinduism as well as both local and foreigners visit the place. The temple is situated in a hill and the visitors have to climb the stairs. The visitors can see the mountainous view and the kothmale reservoir in the course of reaching the temple. Both local and foreign visitors can also taste non-vegetarian food in the onsite restaurant. This temple is also consisted of a bookstore and a meditation centre.
