“Little England” of Sri Lanka, the Nuwara Eliya District is located in the Central Province of island. The name “Little England” was derived as the district satisfied the British colonialists like their home town. The district is located nearly 6000ft up from sea level and the name Nuwara Eliya resembles the meaning of city of light. It is one of the best tourist destinations of Sri Lanka, as its’ climate and scenic view favoured for them. The swirling roads, tea plantations, vegetable plots, admiring gardens, mist filled hills, waterfalls, colonial style buildings & many more exist in the district to treat the tourists. More percent of the population of the district is filled by Indian Tamils and Sinhalese.
